JOH: It’s essential for everyone. The body works to achieve the energy balance in any environment. It is better to think about how we can help people make energy balance with a healthy body weight better than with overweight.
How Can We Support A Change In Behavior In The Population?
JOH: I think our biggest challenge is to provide a solid reason to change. We know that our environment facilitates weight gain, but we hesitate to leave many things of that environment (good taste, cheap food, and engaging sedentary activities: televisions, cars, computers). I think it is possible to solve our problems with small changes in our lifestyle instead of with radical changes in the way we live but, in any case, it will be necessary to make changes, and we have to offer people a reason to make them.
